A Minerals Strategy for New Zealand to 2040 and New Zealand's Critical Minerals List
The New Zealand Government launched a minerals strategy to 2040, with a delivery roadmap built around productivity, value and resilience, together with a first Critical Minerals List of 37 minerals. The strategy aims to double mineral exports to NZ$3 billion by 2035. Cabinet added gold and metallurgical coal to the list recommended by Wood Mackenzie, and MBIE will review the list periodically.
