Oman Mineral Resources Law (Royal Decree 19/2019)

Royal Decree 19/2019 issued a new Mineral Resources Law replacing the 2003 Mining Law, vesting mineral resources in the State and the Public Authority for Mining as regulator, and setting licensing, concession, rent and minimum 5% royalty rules. Article 12 requires written approval from the Authority for any export of ores covered by the law and allows the Authority to designate ores whose export is prohibited for a set period in the public interest.
