Argentine aluminium producer, founded in 1971-1974 and producing since 1974, with a primary aluminium plant at Puerto Madryn, Chubut, of 460,000 t a year and 32,000 t a year of semi-finished products at Abasto, Buenos Aires. It exports more than 80% of output and generates hydro, thermal and wind power.
